Position: Senior Crestron/Extron Audio Visual (AV) Programmer
Location: Cerritos, CA
Senior Crestron/Extron Audio Visual (AV) Programmer Position Summary
As GST's Senior AV Control System Programmer, you will lead the development, testing, and implementation of advanced control system programming for Crestron, Extron, and related AV platforms. This role requires expertise in designing and deploying control system code, audio files, and device configurations. You will perform both in‑house system testing and on‑site commissioning at client locations.
The ideal candidate is an experienced AV Programmer who can independently manage multiple complex projects and collaborate effectively with teams, clients, and partners.
Key Responsibilities
System Design & Requirements
- Review and interpret AV system drawings, signal flows, and technical documentation
- Gather, analyze, and document programming and system requirements
- Participate in control system design and collaborate on AV system architecture reviews
Programming & Development
- Develop new modules, device drivers, user interfaces, and custom control solutions
- Program and configure Crestron/AMX/Extron control systems and user interfaces
- Create and maintain technical standards, programming templates, and best‑practice procedures
- Program and configure DSP systems across major platforms (e.g., Q‑Sys, Biamp, BSS)
- Use relevant AV and embedded system programming languages as required
Testing, Commissioning & Troubleshooting
- Upload, download, and validate control programs on embedded systems
- Perform in‑house system testing, QA verification, and simulation
- Conduct on‑site or remote commissioning, acceptance testing, and system tuning
- Troubleshoot integrated systems and resolve hardware/software issues
- Provide technical support to project teams, manufacturers, and customers
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with engineers, project managers, technicians, and client stakeholders
- Clearly communicate technical information and project status to team members and clients
- Offer guidance and mentorship to junior programmers or project staff
Additional Requirements
- Travel to job sites as needed
- Use test and calibration tools proficiently
- Maintain high standards of accuracy, documentation, and professionalism
Qualifications
- Previous experience with AV control systems, video conferencing, switching hardware, audio DSP setup, and calibration
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Programming or equivalent experience
- Minimum of three years of Crestron or AMX control system programming experience
- Harman Certified Control Professional (C‑P) required
- Extron GC‑Pro certification required
- Crestron and AMX certifications required
- CTS or CTS‑D certification preferred
