Advanced Manufacturing Engineer II - NPI Honeywell

The AME-NPI function serves as Honeywell's link between Integrated Supply Chain and product development, engineering, program management, and strategic business units. It participates in the execution of new product development programs to ensure product cost, capability, and producibility targets are achieved. This includes evaluating the design, supply base, product cost, manufacturing factory, process capability, and manufacturing yield of end items. Knowledge of HON Aerospace IPDS processes, Flawless Launch, and APQP are required.
The current opportunity is in the mechanical aerospace component design market space. This position requires on-site presence at the HON facility located in Torrance, CA.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Lead the implementation of new manufacturing techniques
- Review conceptual and development designs for cost, quality, manufacturability, and yield
- Manage Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) items to meet IPDS goals
- Manage Unit Product Cost (UPC) models to meet Flawless Launch and APQP goals
- Ensure design benefits from APQP artifacts (PMAP, DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plan, PPAP)
- Ensure product benefits from Flawless Launch artifacts (DFM Scorecard, Heat Map, PRR, MRA)
- Interface with Engineering and Sourcing to identify suppliers meeting capacity, cost, and capability goals
- Identify and manage new product assembly, test, or tooling Capital needs
- Drive IPDS adherence for all ISC related items
- Manage Cost Take Out (CTO) efforts and risk mitigation plans
- Drive DFX activities (Manufacturing, Assembly, Test, Lean)
- Predict and manage Product RTY efforts to aero RTY goals
- Facilitate Production Readiness Reviews and Phase 5/C action closures
- Interface with Production Cells to ensure smooth production transitions
- Provide AME/ISC artifacts in IPDS Phase 2/A as required
- Provide AME/ISC scheduling, planning, and budget management to Program Management as required
- Understand, manage, and achieve AME HMR hardware delivery program milestones
- Drive IPDS adherence for all ISC items in Phase Exit Criteria Assessment (PECA) check sheets
- Achieve ISC Program Milestones, maintain IPDS metrics, and provide status presentations
- Support AME HOS activities including standard work definition and tiered MOS accountability

The annual base salary range for this position is $82,400 - $110,000. This range is a guideline and offers consider scope, responsibilities, candidate experience, education, skills, and market conditions.
Due to U.S. export control laws, candidate must be a U.S. person (U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or protected status).
YOU MUST HAVE- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (STEM)
- 2+ years of Engineering or Integrated Supply Chain experience
- Experience with data analysis and statistical process control
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Advanced degrees (ME or EE)
- Product knowledge in valves, pumps, actuators, and environmental control systems
- Ability to read engineering drawings and assess manufacturing capability
- Basic knowledge of casting and machining processes
- Strong computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, MS Project)
- Manufacturing and supplier factory floor exposure requiring safety shoes and glasses
- Excellent communication skills (oral, written, presentation)
- Understanding of manufacturing techniques and cost impacts
- Project management skills with the ability to close initiatives on time and within budget
- Green Belt/Black Belt, Lean, Six Sigma tools, HOS certification
- Experience with DFMEA/PFMEA/MSA and APQP elements
- Knowledge of SAP, Teamcenter, and other data systems
