• Lead and manage strategic risk profile of the RAF.
• Lead and direct the implementation of corporate governance best practices and policies within the RAF’s Risk management environment.
• Lead and direct the development, implementation and maintenance of risk management policies, processes and strategies.
• Support the reinsurance function in the management of reinsurance recovers to ensure that reinsurance contracts provide appropriate cover to the RAF business.
• Ensure that the risk mitigation strategies are appropriate, implementable and that associated targets are achievable for business units.
• Lead and direct the risk mapping using the strategic, key operational and business unit-level risk profiles to establish what risks are assured and by whom and what risks should be assured and by whom.

Lead and Direct Ethics Management

• Lead and direct the development, implementation and maintenance of Ethics management policies, processes and strategies.
• Provide leadership and direction in the implementation of approved ethics initiatives.
• Provide leadership and direction in the responses to alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies and procedures and standards of conducts at leadership level.
• Provide leadership and direction on the development of code of ethics and integrate ethical standards.

Business Continuity Management

• Lead and direct the development, implementation and maintenance of Business Continuity management policies, processes and strategies.
• Safeguard data processing operations by identifying potential problem areas and single points of failure that may result in interruptions to critical data processing operations.
• Ensure that Corporate Asset Protection procedures cover critical Business Resources located at regional Business Offices.
• Lead and direct the development of plans for crisis management and execute on those plans when required.

Compliance Management

• Lead and direct the management, monitoring and reporting on legislation, codes, regulations and standards affecting the RAF to ensure awareness of all legislative, administrative and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Lead the monitor legislative developments.
• Advise business on the compliance obligations.
• Lead the monitoring of submission by the business of statutory reports.
• Ensure compliance to all standards approved by the Board and Governance structures.

Data Governance

• Lead and direct the development and implementation of disaster recovery, data sensitivity, back-up.
• Lead and direct the development of safeguards and Business Recovery Plans and Procedures governing the remote Business Offices and Operations.
• Lead and direct the implementation of POPI act initiatives.
• Lead and direct the implementation PAIA.

Stakeholder Management

• Create risk management awareness throughout the Fund through various engagements with RAF employees.
• Engage with relevant internal stakeholders during a disaster recovery
• Maintain proactive and progressive relationships with key stakeholders including organised labour and attorneys etc.
• Provide strategic input into annual planning and budget development to support strategic operational goals.
• Develop and implement RAF operational Enterprise Risk Management budget.
• Responsible for reporting and reviewing Enterprise Risk Management financial and non-financial goals.
• Ensure sufficient internal control measures are implemented for adherence to PFMA, RAF and other relevant legislation and regulation.

Strategy Development and Operational Planning

• Lead the Implementation of the Enterprise Risk Management strategy and plan that ensure alignment with short-term and long-term objectives.
• Lead the implementation and annual review of the overall Strategic Plan for the Enterprise Risk Management department.
• Provide strategic input into the plan of the current and future interventions necessary to achieve acceptable levels and standards of the RAF strategy and operational plans to the Executive forum.

Policy Review and Implementation

• Provide direction on the development and implementation of policy, procedures, and processes.
• Work with appropriate structures to ensure effective execution of policy and practices.
• Provide advice and guidance to the Policy department on legislative compliance, emerging issues, risks, and the implementation of changes required on policy matters.

People Management

• Ensure the sourcing, development and retention of a high-performance team.
• Ensuring the motivation, cohesiveness, and alignment of the organization’s team members.
• Oversee the implementation of human capital processes and procedures to control/regulate workplace conflict and/or institute corrective measures and consultation processes to address deviations from standards.

Reporting

• Report quarterly on progress with implementation of operational plans.
• Lead the development of functional reporting systems, for management, project or performance reporting.
