Overview

A company who provides sales force automation and supply chain solutions, primarily for the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector, across Africa, is currently seeking someone who will lead their “Data to Intelligence” growth and integration strategy, interfacing with internal teams and external industry leaders to unlock value from data at scale.

• Strategic Leadership: Lead the end-to-end data integration strategy, from external engagement to technical execution, operationalizing the "Data to Intelligence" vision.
• System & Platform Oversight: Evaluate, select, and implement data management systems (PIM, ERP, data lakes) and oversee their integration to ensure accuracy and real-time data flow.
• Data Management & Commercialization: Establish product data flows across retailers and manufacturers, and support the commercialization of data services through tools and dashboards.
• Stakeholder & Industry Engagement: Act as the primary data liaison, representing the Group at industry events and in high-level commercial meetings with the C‑suite.
• Governance & AI Adoption: Enforce data governance best practices, monitor KPIs, and guide teams on integrating AI technologies like LLMs and machine learning models.

• Education: A Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Business, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Experience:
  • 10+ years in data management or digital transformation, preferably within FMCG, retail, or manufacturing.
  • Proven track record in system implementation, cross‑functional team leadership, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong understanding of product lifecycle data flows, syndicated data, and retailer onboarding.
• Skills:
  • Executive‑level communication and stakeholder management.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau).
  • Understanding of AI platforms (LLMs, chatbots) and machine learning.
  • Familiarity with global data standards (GS1, GDSN).
