Role Summary
To lead, manage, and continuously improve the organization’s commercial systems ecosystem, covering customer acquisition, sales, ordering, and customer self-service platforms. The Manager:
Commercial Systems & Enablement will drive system enablement initiatives that enhance automation, data flow, and business agility, while leading a small technical and functional team responsible for day-to-day system performance, innovation, and stakeholder alignment.
- Develop and execute a commercial systems enablement strategy aligned with business and IT objectives.
- Lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for the design, integration, and optimization of commercial platforms.
- Serve as the bridge between IT, Sales, Marketing, and Operations to ensure systems support end-to-end commercial processes.
- Identify modernization opportunities that enhance customer experience and internal efficiency.
- Manage and maintain the ecosystem of commercial systems, including CRM, sales enablement tools, ordering platforms, and customer self-service portals.
- Ensure high system availability, performance, and user satisfaction.
- Oversee configuration, change management, and quality assurance for all commercial platforms.
- Work with enterprise architects to ensure alignment with overall system design, data integrity, and integration frameworks.
- Drive the effective adoption and utilization of systems by business users through enablement initiatives, training, and communication.
- Introduce process automation, reporting, and analytics improvements that support commercial decision-making.
- Define KPIs for system performance and user enablement, and report progress to the CIO.
- Manage vendor relationships related to commercial systems, including support agreements and enhancement roadmaps.
- Ensure compliance with data governance, privacy, and security policies.
- Participate in procurement and evaluation of new commercial tools or platforms.
- Lead, coach, and develop a small technical and functional enablement team.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with other IT and business leaders to prioritize system enhancements and manage dependencies.
- Matric / Grade 12
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
- 7+ years’ experience in managing commercial systems (CRM, ordering, or customer self-service) in a telecom or technology environment.
- Minimum 3 years in a managerial or team lead capacity.
- Proven experience in system integration, process enablement, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Strong understanding of digital customer journeys and commercial process automation.
