We’re looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join our team on a permanent hybrid basis. You'll be working with one of our major banking clients, based in Johannesburg, helping to deliver critical software systems in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to manage timelines, resources, and technical delivery. It's ideal for someone who combines technical expertise with leadership and a passion for high-impact delivery.

Experience & Skills:

• 5+ years of Data Engineering or similar experience (essential)
• Strong expertise in Ab Initio, SQL, ETL, Data Analysis, and Data Modelling
• Background in the Banking and/or Consulting sectors (highly preferred)
• Experience managing teams or leading projects (preferred)
• Familiarity with Agile, Project Management, and the Software Development Lifecycle (advantageous)
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills
• Proven ability to deliver within the financial services environment

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (strongly preferred)
• Certifications in Project Management (PMP, PRINCE2) are a plus
