Group Tax Compliance Manager

Responsibilities

• Tax Compliance Backlog: submit or amend historical income tax returns across six jurisdictions, resolve tax authority queries, manage audits end‑to‑end
• Tax Projects: pursue refunds; prepare and submit voluntary disclosures, lead audit responses, review tax opinions, health checks, and external audit reports
• Transfer Pricing: roll out TP documentation, contribute to TP assessments, obtain WHT DTA rate approvals, review agreements for tax risk
• Consultant Management: direct and quality‑check in‑country tax consultants, assess risk in reports, align with finance and group tax on actions and improvements
• Tax Accounting: calculate income and deferred tax for accruals and provisionals, ensure accuracy of tax accounts in the trial balance
• Tracking & Visibility: maintain group tracking schedules, prepare status reports for management and shareholders, keep Jira items current daily
• Advisory & Continuous Improvement: support finance on reconciliations and ad hoc queries, monitor regulatory changes and advise on impacts, drive process enhancements

• Minimum 5+ years post‑articles in tax (multinational group or accounting/tax practice)
• Comfortable with large corporate returns and cross‑border principles and appreciation of dispute resolution processes
• Strong project management and ownership mindset
• Must be able to work independently and report progress in real time
• Advanced MS Excel, excellent numerical analysis and attention to detail
• Resilient, deadline‑driven, and effective under pressure with clear communication across all seniority levels
• Team‑oriented: balances individual accountability with collaboration, maintains confidentiality and high professional standards

• BCom AND Postgraduate Tax qualification
• Completed articles
• Professional designation: SAIPA, AGA(SA), CA(SA) OR equivalent
