Our client, a leader in the investments and insurance sector, is seeking a strategic and technically-minded Service Specialist to drive the evolution of their guaranteed annuity and structured product portfolios. This is a high-impact role designed for an actuarial professional who thrives on innovation, complex pricing, and cross-functional leadership.
Key Responsibilities- Product Leadership:
Lead the development and maintenance of guaranteed annuities and structured products, overseeing changes across systems, processes, and the overall client experience. - Innovation & Design:
Drive innovation in product design to maintain market leadership and meet evolving client needs. - Pricing & Financial Oversight:
Oversee and enhance pricing models to ensure financial soundness. Provide expert guidance on complex pricing and special quote scenarios. - Strategic Governance:
Present strategic proposals and insights to high-level governance forums, including Product Management Committees and Manco. - Market Analysis:
Monitor market trends and the ongoing competitiveness of current solutions. - Mentorship:
Act as a senior subject matter expert, mentoring and developing junior product specialists and analysts to foster a high-performance culture. - Collaboration:
Work closely with actuarial, finance, distribution, and IT teams to implement product enhancements.
- Actuarial Status:
You must be an academically qualified associate or fellow actuary.
- Industry
Experience:
A minimum of 3 years’ experience within the life insurance or investments industry is required. - Advantageous
Experience:
Experience specifically with guaranteed annuities and/or structured products. - Functional Expertise:
Prior experience in product development and pricing.
- Technical & Analytical:
High level of technical skills and a strong attention to detail. - Strategic Thinking:
The ability to interrogate data, think critically, and balance the needs of various stakeholders. - Management:
Proven leadership and project management skills. - Personal Attributes:
Must be self-confident, self-motivated, and demonstrate a relentless pursuit of targets and goals. - Knowledge Maintenance: A commitment to keeping technical product and legislative knowledge current to ensure compliance and innovation.
