Position: Civil Engineer / Civil Engineering Technologist (Structural)
About the Role

We are seeking a Civil Engineer / Civil Engineering Technologist (Structural) with approximately 5 years experience in structural engineering to join our growing team. The role involves the analysis, design, and detailing of structural systems, working closely with multidisciplinary teams from concept through to construction.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering technically sound, efficient, and compliant structural designs while supporting junior staff and contributing to project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform structural analysis and design for concrete, steel, and masonry structures
- Prepare detailed structural drawings, calculations, and technical reports
- Review and coordinate structural designs with other engineering disciplines
- Ensure compliance with relevant design codes, standards, and regulations
- Conduct site inspections, assessments, and construction support
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders
- Assist with mentoring and guiding junior engineers and technologists
- Contribute to project planning, cost control, and delivery schedules
- Maintain accurate engineering records and documentation

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

- BEng (Civil Engineering) or BTech (Civil Engineering) qualification
- Approximately 5 years experience in structural engineering
- Solid experience in structural design of reinforced concrete and structural steel
- Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g. Prokon, ETABS, SAP
2000 or similar)
- Competency in AutoCAD and/or BIM software advantageous
- Strong understanding of South African design codes and standards
- Good technical writing and reporting skills
- Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving abilities
