Application Engineering Intern

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks an enthusiastic student for an Electrical & Application Engineering Intern positions in our Centurion office. The ideal candidate must be a based in South Africa for this position. Applicants who recently graduated or pursuing final year in electrical, power systems or power engineering field is preferred only!

• Provide support for communication/automation/protection test beds.
• Perform testing on existing and new technology.
• Support Sales and Customer Service and product development activities related to communication/automation/protection.
• Support applications engineers to develop best practice application guides for SEL technology that provide secure and compliant solutions.
• Continuously identify, measure, and improve processes.

• You are a fresh graduate or current final year student pursuing a BS or MS in Electrical/Power Engineering.
• You have the ability to work full time.
• You have an interest in electrical power systems, protection and control.
• You have practical knowledge of 3-phase power systems
• Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment

Our intern pay is determined based on the internship role and on hourly basis.
