Summary: A leading engineering and manufacturing organisation within the defence and advanced technology sector is seeking a Machine Design Engineer to join their dynamic engineering team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, development, and improvement of specialised machinery and mechanical systems used in high-precision manufacturing environments.

• Design and develop mechanical machines, assemblies, and components from concept through to production.
• Produce detailed 3D models, engineering drawings, and design documentation.
• Perform design calculations, tolerance analysis, and material selection.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including manufacturing, electrical, and project engineering.
• Support prototype development, testing, and commissioning of machines.
• Identify opportunities to improve machine performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
• Ensure designs comply with engineering standards, safety requirements, and quality specifications.
• Provide technical support during fabrication, assembly, and installation phases.

• BEng Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in machine design within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, Inventor, Creo, or similar).
• Experience with design calculations, tolerance stack-ups, and mechanical systems integration.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently as well as within a multidisciplinary engineering team.
