Job Type: 6 month contract, expected to work Full-Time hours
Job Duties:
1. Planning & Scheduling
• Develop project schedules for all project phases: initiation, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.
• Use approved scheduling software (Primavera P6) to build, update, and maintain the project schedule.
• Establish WBS structures aligned with project scope, cost, and deliverables.
• Identify dependencies, constraints, and logical relationships between activities.
2. Schedule Control
• Maintain the schedule baseline and track actual progress vs baseline.
• Monitor and report schedule variances, delays, and critical path changes.
• Conduct “what-if” scenario analyses to assess potential schedule risks.
• Integrate contractor schedules into the master schedule.
3. Progress Measurement
• Track weekly and monthly progress using planned % vs actual % vs physical % complete.
• Prepare lookahead schedules (1-week, 2-week, 4-week) to support site execution.
• Work with engineers, supervisors, and contractors to validate progress updates.
4. Reporting & Analytics
• Prepare detailed schedule reports including:
• Schedule variances and slippages.
• Critical path updates.
• Forecasted start/finish dates.
• Impacts of changes and delays.
• Provide input to weekly and monthly project progress reports.
5. Integrated Project Controls Alignment
• Coordinate with cost control, risk management, and change management teams.
• Ensure linkage between schedule, budget, and scope baselines.
• Support Earned Value Management (EVM) where required by the client.
6. Change Management Support
• Assess schedule impacts for all Requests for Change (RFCs).
• Update the schedule and issue revised baselines when changes are approved.
• Maintain a Change Register relating to schedule impacts.
7. Stakeholder Coordination
• Facilitate planning meetings with engineers, construction supervisors, contractors, and project managers.
• Align contractor plans with project execution strategies.
• Provide planning support during procurement, tender evaluations, and contractor onboarding.
8. Compliance & Quality
• Ensure all schedules meet client standards, quality guidelines, and project controls requirements.
• Maintain schedule audit trails and revision history.
• Ensure all planning outputs are reviewed, signed off, and stored in the project document control system.
Required Qualifications:
Relevant Degree or Diploma
Project Management/Planning Qualification
Experience:
10-15 years experience
Primavera P6
SMPP & EC&I experience
