AboutThe Role
We are seeking a CAD Draughtsperson with petrochemical experience to support the detailed design and documentation of piping systems, pressure vessels, and associated plant equipment. This role requires strong technical drafting capability and a sound understanding of industry standards applicable to petrochemical facilities.
You will work closely with mechanical engineers and project teams to produce accurate 3D models, plant layouts, isometrics, and fabrication drawings for industrial processing environments.
Key Responsibilities- Develop 3D models and detailed drawings for piping systems, pressure vessels, and plant equipment
- Prepare piping isometrics, general arrangement drawings, and fabrication details
- Produce detailed manufacturing drawings in accordance with relevant codes and standards
- Assist with material take-offs (MTOs) and bill of materials accuracy
- Interpret and apply industry standards such as ASME, API, and SANS where applicable
- Review and revise drawings based on engineering and client feedback
- Maintain strict drawing control, revision management, and documentation standards
- Support site measurement verification and as-built documentation when required
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure accurate plant integration
- N4–N6 or Diploma in Mechanical Draughting (or equivalent)
- Approximately 3–7 years’ experience in petrochemical or process plant draughting
- Strong experience in piping layouts, pressure vessels, and plant equipment detailing
- Proficiency in Inventor, AutoCAD, or similar CAD platforms
- Familiarity with piping standards and pressure equipment codes (ASME, API, SANS)
- Understanding of fabrication processes and industrial installation practices
- Strong attention to detail and technical accuracy
- Ability to work within regulated and compliance-driven environments
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Work on technically challenging petrochemical and process plant projects
- Exposure to complex industrial systems and compliance-driven design
