Design Engineer

• Design, develop, and optimize industrial refrigeration systems in accordance with SANS 10147 and relevant industry standards.
• Perform heat load calculations, equipment selection, and detailed system integration.
• Prepare Bills of Materials (BOM), cost estimates, and tender documentation.
• Source and evaluate supplier quotations to ensure cost‑effective and high‑quality design outcomes.
• Provide technical support to project teams, including commissioning assistance and client communication.
• Conduct site audits and SANS 10147 performance assessments to identify improvement opportunities.
• Mentor junior engineers and ensure quality, accuracy, and consistency across all design deliverables.

• Minimum of five years experience in the design of industrial systems.
• Proven ability to deliver complete, compliant, and efficient engineering designs.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a high level of technical attention to detail.
• Experience preparing and reviewing tender and bid documentation.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with clients and stakeholders.
• Proficient in MS Office;
  AutoCAD Plant 3D experience considered an advantage.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain high professional standards.

• BTech or
  
  B.Eng in Mechanical Engineering (essential).
• Category C SAQCC Designer Certification (essential).
• Additional training or certifications in refrigeration or energy systems advantageous.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as required.
