Civil Engineering Technician

Overview

The Civil Engineering Technician under the guidance of the Design Civil Engineer/Senior Civil Engineer shall be responsible for preparation and production of technical drawings for civil engineering projects including, but not limited to stormwater drainage, roads, bridges, culverts, water system, wastewater system, bulk earthworks, structures, buildings, using AutoCAD software. The technical drawings production shall include revisions based on feedback from supervisors, project team or other stakeholders, ensuring compliance with applicable civil engineering design codes and standards.

The candidate should be able to work independently with minimal supervision and deliver the project to meet client objectives. All work is office based.

• Prepare detailed technical drawings and schemes for civil engineering projects using AutoCAD software.
• Collaborate with civil engineers and other professionals to develop design concepts and incorporate changes.
• Revise drawings based on feedback, design changes, and project specifications. Distribute drawings to relevant stakeholders.
• Ensure drawings comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
• Maintain organized records of all drawings and revisions.
• Assist in preparing documentation for permits and project approvals e.g. wayleaves, municipal/department drawing approvals etc.
• Conduct site visits to gather data and verify conditions against drawings.
