** Principal*
* ** Structural Designer/Drafter
** with experience in CAD drafting for highway and/or rail bridge projects. The Chicago structural group is known for tackling the most challenging and fast-paced bridge projects in the industry. As a Structural Designer/Drafter at Parsons, you'll play a key role in turning ideas and sketches into detailed CAD plan sheets, ensuring precision and quality in every project.

** Responsibilities:*
* + Use CAD software to prepare detailed engineering drawings, including bridge plans, elevations, sections, and details, based on preliminary sketches or general engineering information, following established standards and procedures.

+ Collaborate closely with other Designer/Drafters and Engineers to ensure coordinated and accurate designs.

+ Apply standard drafting and design principles to complete assignments efficiently and effectively.

+ Compile data and perform dimensional and routine calculations required for the preparation of drawings.

+ Make necessary changes, additions, and revisions to drawings, following a structured quality control process that includes checking, back checking, correcting, and verifying.

+ Manage the assembly and delivery of completed drawing sets within the bridge discipline.

* Education:

** Associate's degree or equivalent technical certificate from an accredited designer/drafter program.

* Experience:

** 10+ years of relevant experience in bridge structural drafting and design.

** Technical

Skills:

** Proficiency with Bentley tools, including Micro Station, Project Wise, and Open Bridge Modeler.

** Standards Knowledge:
** Ability to interpret and ensure conformance to applicable standards such as AASHTO, state DOT CAD standards, and company policies and procedures, including the ability to set up workspace environments.

** Attention to Detail:
** Strong focus on accuracy, quality, and adherence to established drafting conventions.
