P.E. Teacher and Athletic Director
to lead physical education instruction for grades
K-8and oversee the K–12 extracurricular and athletic programs. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for Christ-centered leadership, physical development, and community life beyond the classroom. This individual will also coordinate non-athletic extracurricular activities (including clubs), mentorcoachesand sponsors,assist with substitute teaching as needed, and help build a cohesive culture of joyful participation, teamwork, and service across the whole school.
- Teach P.E. classes for students in grades
K-8, promoting strength, agility, teamwork, and sportsmanship. - Design a curriculum that integrates biblical principles with classical perspectives on health and the body.
- Maintain a safe and structured learning environment during all activities.
- Oversee all K–12 athletics programs, ensuring alignment with the mission and values of classical Christian education.
- Recruit, mentor, and evaluate coaches who prioritize discipleship, virtue, and excellence.
- Create and manage seasonal team schedules, including practices, games, transportation, and facility use.
- Ensure proper communication with families, league contacts, and external organizations.
- Maintain compliance with governing athletic bodies and represent the school at league or district meetings.
- Plan and execute athletic events and activities (e.g., parent meetings, awards banquets, spirit nights).
- Supervise game-day operations and serve as the administrator-on-duty at home contests.
- Manage athletic budget, inventory, and facility upkeep.
- Coordinate all Upper and Lower School
non-athletic extracurricular programs
, including clubs, interest groups, and student organizations. - Partner with faculty and staff to
identify club leaders/sponsors
,establisheschedules, and communicate club offerings to students and parents. - Foster a culture where extracurricular involvement is formative, virtuous, and mission-aligned.
- Promote student leadership, service, and initiative through club involvement.
- Support school administration by
substituting in classrooms
as needed. - Collaborate with
Lower
School faculty and staff in planning athletics or extracurricular programs for younger grades. - Participate in
faculty meetings, training, and professional development
. - Contribute to the spiritual, cultural, and communal life of Ad Fontes through mentoring, example, and prayerful presence.
- A mature Christian who wholeheartedly affirms the mission and statement of faith of Ad Fontes Academy.
- Actively involved in a local church and committed to modeling Christlike character in all areas of life.
- A servant-leader with humility, initiative, and a heart for student discipleship.
- Bachelor’s degree required(Master’spreferred);
Physical Education, Sports Administration, or Education focus ideal. - Minimum of5 years of coaching experience
and/or athletic leadership;experience across K–12 settings is preferred. - Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple programs and responsibilities.
- Ability to build andmaintainrelationships with students, parents, faculty, and community partners.
- Experience with classical Christian education and an understanding of its holistic approach to formation.
- CPR/First Aid certification required or willingness to obtain.
- Ability tolift upto 50lbsand manage athletic equipment as needed.
- Able to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, including during inclement weather.
- Flexible scheduling, with availability for after-school practices, games, and occasional weekend events.
