The Drivers team in the East Region is an exciting place to be. With our new fleet of trains now in service, it's a time of transition and optimism for the future. Paddington Depot is amongst the largest on the GWR Network and makes for a challenging and rewarding work environment. As a Driver Standards Manager, you will find that no two days are the same in this dynamic location.
Working in a large team and together with the wider East Region, we will achieve our goals and deliver a fantastic service.
Your main responsibilities
- Line management of Drivers: welfare, conduct, attendance
- The coordination of GWR's competence management systems for safety critical operational staff, focusing primarily on Drivers.
- Driver recruitment and training activities
- Incident/accident investigations and due diligence checks
- Safety briefings for drivers
- On call commitment
- Using your skills and knowledge to deliver a safe, reliable railway.

About youYou'll need to be:
- Able to work flexibly and efficiently.
- A team player with excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills.
- Able to learn/adapt to change.
- Able to work methodically and create/maintain accurate records.
- Able to undertake on-call duties on early and late shifts.
- A positive attitude to learning
- Good Microsoft office skills.
- Previous line management experience.
- PTS Competent
- Excellent knowledge of operational rules and standards.
