Role Overview

We are seeking a D1 Driver to support operational services. The postholder will be responsible for driving council vehicles to and from sites both within and outside the borough, ensuring vehicles are operated safely, maintained correctly and kept clean and hygienic.

Key Responsibilities

* Drive council vehicles to and from various sites as required, including transporting vulnerable adults and children with learning diffilculties

* Conduct daily vehicle maintenance and safety checks

* Maintain vehicle cleanliness, hygiene and readiness for use

* Check all relevant equipment prior to use

* Plan and map journey routes efficiently

* Maintain accurate driving logs and daily schedules

* Comply with health and safety regulations and council procedures at all times

Essential Requirements

* Full UK driving licence with D1 entitlement

* Previous professional driving experience escorting vulnerable adults and children

* Good knowledge of road safety and vehicle checks

* Ability to work independently and follow schedules

* Reliable, punctual and professional approach

* Enhanced DBS (will be applied for)
