We're looking for a mid‑level software engineer to join a cross‑functional product team. You’ll work mainly on our React front‑end, with occasional contributions to our Kotlin backend, supported by your team.

You’ll collaborate closely with product managers and designers to understand customer needs and deliver high‑quality, maintainable software. You’ll write modern Type Script, build accessible and engaging user interfaces, and contribute to Sedex’s front‑end practice. The team owns the full lifecycle of its software, including operability, performance, and safe, frequent production releases.

• Learn the domain, systems, and architecture relevant to your team
• Understand the production environment, CI/CD pipelines, and deployments
• Start reviewing production metrics and operational data
• Become productive and take ownership of team deliverables
• Build strong relationships and embed into team processes

• Design and deliver solutions using high‑quality, test‑driven code
• Build reusable web and mobile UI components and libraries
• Contribute to backend work when needed
• Deliver work iteratively to support continuous delivery
• Participate in code reviews, planning, retrospectives, and knowledge sharing
• Support and mentor less experienced engineers
• Identify and raise technical risk, tech debt, and non‑functional requirements
• Monitor and support your code in production
  
  Contribute to the wider front‑end community at Sedex

• 24+ years experience in a front‑end JavaScript role using React or similar
• Strong Type Script knowledge
• Experience building accessible UIs with design and UX teams
• Experience with design systems, automated testing, and TDD
• Familiarity with front‑end testing tools and modern architectures
• Experience with CI/CD, production monitoring, and Agile ways of working
• Strong communication, collaboration (including pair‑programming), and ownership mindset
• Focus on customer value and continuous improvement

• Backend‑for‑frontend experience
• Exposure to Docker, Terraform, Kubernetes, or Bash
• Experience with data visualisation or front‑end monorepos
