Senior Software Engineer (C# .NET)

We’re working with a global financial services group operating at scale across energy, commodities and financial markets. With offices across Europe, the US and APAC, the business provides critical market access, liquidity and technology‑led infrastructure to institutional clients worldwide.

Technology sits at the core of the organisation’s growth strategy. The engineering function delivers secure, high‑performance platforms used globally, with teams aligned closely to business domains and operating in modern agile streams.

They are now expanding their Capital Markets engineering squad and are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with strong C# .NET and AWS expertise to help build a next‑generation, globally distributed payments platform.

What you’ll be doing

• Designing and building greenfield, proprietary services that form part of a global payments platform
• Developing low‑latency, high‑throughput APIs and event‑driven workflows
• Contributing to solution design
  , architecture decisions and automation‑first Dev Ops practices
• Owning code quality through shift‑left testing
  , close collaboration with QA/SDETs and peer reviews
• Working closely with platform engineering and enterprise architecture to ensure consistency, scalability and resilience
• Taking a technical leadership role within the squad — mentoring engineers, driving standards and continuous improvement
• Supporting the delivery of frequent, high‑quality change with zero compromise on stability or security

What they’re looking for

• Strong back‑end engineering experience with C#, .NET / .NET Core, SQL
• Cloud experience, ideally AWS
  , within Linux environments
• Experience building microservices
  , RESTful APIs, caching strategies and distributed systems
• Solid understanding of Dev Ops, CI/CD, automation‑first delivery
  , and modern SDLC practices
• Comfortable working in Agile / Scrum / Kanban environments
• Containerisation and messaging:
  Docker, Kafka, No
  
  SQL
• Event‑driven and pub/sub architectures, real‑time systems, Web Sockets
• Experience working in regulated or highly controlled environments
