Location: City of Westminster

Central Recruitment is currently working with a London-based charity dedicated to preventing homelessness and supporting individuals in rebuilding their lives.

Our client is currently recruiting for a Complex Needs Project Worker to work in a 68 bed men's hostel in the Westminster area. The hostel provides 24/7 specialist support to clients with a variety of support needs including substance use, mental health difficulties, rough sleeping and criminal justice contact.

* 37.5 hours per week

* Monday - Friday (rota basis)

* Shifts:

08:00 - 16:00 and 13:00 - 21:00 (rotating weekly between early and late shifts)

* Temporary: approximately 3 months

 * £16.64 per hour (£14.85 per hour, with £1.79 holiday pay)

This is a fantastic opportunity to provide key support to individuals with complex needs.

Key responsibilities:

* Hold a caseload of up to 10 key clients, delivering regular key working sessions and developing person-centred, trauma-informed support plans

* Complete comprehensive needs and risk assessments

* Deliver skilled support and safety planning with individuals who may be ambivalent about engaging

* Respond to complex needs using a psychologically informed approach

* Support residents through referrals, step-down transitions and recovery planning

* Contribute to the development and evaluation of the in-house recovery programme

* Support residents to address benefits, income maximisation, rent collection and arrears

* Assist individuals with benefits sanctions, suspensions and accessing support where there is no recourse to public funds (NRPF)

* Promote independent budgeting skills through advice and practical support

* Monitor and report maintenance issues and ensure voids are prepared and re-let in a timely manner

* Participate in housing management duties

What we’re looking for:

* Experience working with individuals who have experienced or are at risk of homelessness, including those in temporary or insecure accommodation

* Case/key working experience supporting people with complex needs and behaviours

* Ability to produce high-quality, personalised support and safety plans

* Understanding of trauma, adversity and multiple disadvantage and how these impact engagement

* Knowledge of relevant mental health legislation and its practical application

* Awareness of the factors that contribute to homelessness and how this affects service engagement

* Ability to work collaboratively with multi-agency professionals across different specialties

* Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and meaningful relationships

* Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and database recording systems

Further requirements:

In order to register with Central Recruitment Services for temporary agency work, candidates must meet the following criteria:

* Current valid right to work in the UK

* Minimum 12 months’ of paid experience in a front line social care role within the last 3 years* (unless recruitment criteria states otherwise)

* A fully enhanced DBS either registered on the DBS update service or issued within the last 12 months, or willingness to apply for one through Central (at a cost of £60)

* Employment or education history to cover the last 5 years which can be verified through the referencing process
