Overview
As a Social Worker, you can make your own powerful contribution to people across Westminster. Joining our Children's Social Work Service, you'll be dedicated to improving outcomes for children, young people and their families. Working to create effective safeguarding and protection plans, you'll prioritise safety, empower families and support children and young people with complex needs. This role isn't just rewarding, it's potentially life-changing.
Your day-to-day will be varied and dynamic; the role involves the whole remit of children services, from assessments to court orders to ensure the children attain stability and permanency. You'll get the chance to explore different areas of the profession, develop your skills as part of a high-performing team, and evolve through secondments and additional training. Through empowerment and support, you'll strengthen the resilience of families, engaging them in the formulation of their plans, and delivering proactive services for children h everything you do, you'll help achieve safety and stability for children in need.
Responsibilities• Conduct needs-led planning and review, assess, engage and support families to overcome complex problems and needs.
• Work with children and young people with challenging behaviours and underlying vulnerabilities in a local authority children’s services environment.
• Collaborate with a team to create safeguarding and protection plans and deliver proactive services for children at risk, contributing to safety and stability for children in need.
QualificationsA registered Social Worker with significant experience working with vulnerable children and families, ideally in a local authority children’s services environment, you'll be capable of assessing, engaging and supporting families to overcome complex problems and needs. You'll be comfortable with needs-led planning and review, and will have worked with children and young people with challenging behaviours and underlying vulnerabilities in a previous role.
