Water Hygiene Plumber/Fitter

Location: Oxford (field based) | Package: From £27,529.92

We are looking for an experienced water hygiene plumber / fitter to join our field‑based remedials team. This role requires daily travel and occasional stop‑away trips. You will be responsible for meeting quality, technical and safety standards, achieving performance and punctuality targets, and producing accurate and timely service reports.

The Role
  • Plumbing, tank replacements and remedial works as instructed and in accordance with current standards
  • Planned maintenance when workload dictates
  • Assessment of jobs in advance, and contribution to the planning of labour and materials necessary to complete the works successfully
  • Risk assessments and ensure work is completed safely; report accidents, hazards and near misses
  • Fault finding and identification of solutions to problems
  • Lead hand duties when working in a team
  • Timely and detailed service reports, including upkeep of online records
  • Regular customer communications, including planning, and pre‑ and post‑job reviews
Training & Development
  • Legionella awareness
  • Health & Safety training including asbestos awareness, WAH, COSHH and manual handling
  • IFS Mobile Tablet use
  • Online Report Tracker System

What You’ll Need

Essential Skills

  • Excellent work history in plumbing of domestic water systems, including removal of dead legs and working with copper and plastic pipework
  • Experience of carrying out planned and remedial maintenance in the water hygiene industry, including TMV servicing and C&D of cold water storage tanks
  • Ability to work on own initiative and lead jobs when required

Desirable Experience

  • Experience installing or servicing softeners, RO or CL02 equipment
  • An unvented water heater qualification
  • Experience using a Tablet PC to receive, update and report on work orders
Licence/Certification
  • Full valid driving licence (required)
  • Recognised plumbing qualification, e.g., C&G, NVQ Level 2 or higher
