Role

Purpose:

As the Scientific Leader, you will build and lead a team dedicated to pioneering Quantum research. Your leadership will be crucial in advancing our understanding and application of quantum technology, ultimately contributing to solutions that positively impact society. You will be a key member of our senior scientific leadership team, actively engaged in defining and directing the overarching scientific strategy of our organization.

• Establish Research Vision: Define and articulate the research vision, strategic projects, and roadmaps for discovering and developing quantum solutions aimed at addressing significant societal challenges.
• Team Leadership and Development: Manage and inspire a diverse team of researchers and engineers, ensuring that individual goals align with the team’s strategic objectives while fostering an inclusive and collaborative environment.
• Innovate and Develop: Lead the creation of new quantum algorithms and applications, pushing the boundaries of existing knowledge in areas such as quantum machine learning, optimization, and error correction.

  Identify and pursue research funding opportunities, establishing robust partnerships with funding bodies and academic institutions to support and expand your team’s initiatives.
• Representation and Advocacy: Serve as a representative of Quantinuum in the scientific community, influencing discourse through research outputs, publications, and technical contributions of high relevance.
• Client Engagement and Commercialization: Work closely with commercial teams to ensure successful execution of client projects, understanding and addressing client needs while managing senior stakeholder relationships effectively.
• Drive Innovation Culture: Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation, staying abreast of emerging trends in quantum research and advising on implications for organizational strategy.

• Extensive Research Leadership: A minimum of 10 years of experience leading scientific research initiatives in academic or industrial settings, with a strong portfolio of publications and high citation impact.
• Advanced Educational

  A Ph.D. in quantum information, computer science, mathematics, physics, or a related discipline.

• Reputation and Influence: Established as a recognized leader in the field of quantum scientific research, equivalent to a professor or senior research director in an academic context.

• Client-Focused Approach: Ability to translate complex ideas into impactful, real-world applications.
