As a Sister/Charge Nurse, you'll play a vital leadership role, ensuring our patients receive outstanding care while supporting and guiding our dedicated nursing team. This dynamic position covers both the inpatient Chelsea Wing and the outpatient Westminster Wing, offering a varied and rewarding work environment. Chelsea Wing is a state‑of‑the‑art, 12‑bed unit providing private medical and surgical care to patients seeking the very best treatment and comfort.
Adjacent to it, the Westminster Wing offers private outpatient services, running clinics Monday to Friday. - Lead shifts in both inpatient and outpatient settings, ensuring the highest standards of patient care.
- Oversee daily management of the hospital ward and its staff, providing clinical leadership and ensuring effective and efficient management of ward resources.
- Communicate effectively with members of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality, evidence‑led care to patients.
- Act as a role model for the team, ensuring high levels of clinical excellence and compassionate care.
- Assist in the management of resources, staffing, and equipment to meet service demands.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior colleagues, fostering professional development.
- Promote clinical excellence and ensure high standards of patient care.
- Enhance patient and customer satisfaction through a commitment to service quality.
- Promote a safe clinical environment for all patients, visitors and staff.
- Assist with any local or trust initiatives to ensure the continuous improvement of the quality of services and safeguarding of high standards of care.
- Be aware of all hospital policies and procedures and collaborate with other health care professionals to ensure that these are observed.

- Adhere to and model the standards outlined in the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
- Demonstrate flexibility to work shift patterns as required.
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised patient care through appropriate frameworks, including safe effective arrangements for discharge, underpinned by Trust values.
- Ensure the smooth running of the outpatient clinic, take all required tests including phlebotomy and assist with minor procedures and chaperoning.
- Assist members of the team in the coordination of the clinical activities.
- Use clinical standards to participate in the process of monitoring the quality of care delivered and act to ensure that nursing practice is of the highest standard, in line with Trust and CQC standards.
- Supply and/or administer medication safely in line with Trust medicines policy.
- Assess and support patients with adherence and understanding of their medication, advise on the promotion of health and prevention of illness.
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills in the education of the patient and their significant others.
- Assist with the evaluation of care and initiate any action required, for example liaising with the multidisciplinary team of doctors as appropriate.
- Review the effectiveness of the nursing care provided and initiate any action that may be required.
- Undertake any reasonable and relevant clinical or nonclinical functions commensurate with their banding.
- Recognize and act on situations that may be detrimental to the health and well‑being of the individual.
- Coordinate and support other members of the caring team who may be responsible for implementing specific aspects of nursing care.
- Investigate and report accidents, incidents and losses and provide initial support for the member of staff or patient involved, in line with Trust policy.
- Take on extra duties/responsibilities as delegated and agreed by the department/ ward manager or senior staff nurse, within their capability / limitations.
