Start Young UK is looking for a dedicated and experienced volunteer Treasurer to join our team.

• Financial health – ensure accurate financial management and reporting, maintaining the charity’s financial stability.
• Sustainability – provide strategic financial insights to support long‑term planning.
• Trust & transparency – promote a culture of transparency and accountability with donors, beneficiaries and the community.
• Growth & development – contribute to budgeting and fundraising, directly impacting our capacity to expand services.
• Empowerment – allow the team to focus on programmes by managing financial aspects effectively.

• Maintain accurate financial records and oversee the charity’s accounts, ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Prepare and manage annual budgets in collaboration with the board.
• Present financial reports to the board of trustees, highlighting key metrics and trends.
• Assist in fundraising efforts and grant applications by providing financial information.
• Contribute to strategic planning with financial forecasts and advice.
• Work closely with trustees and staff to foster a culture of transparency and accountability.

• Passion and commitment to empowering children from socio‑economically disadvantaged areas.
• Previous experience in finance, accounting or a related field.
• Familiarity with the nonprofit sector, including an understanding of fundraising and grant management, is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills.
