Overview
To assist Cleaning Account Manager in planning, organising, and managing all cleaning and window cleaning operations, ensuring the delivery of high standards, cleanliness and hygiene within the premises. To ensure health and safety practices are followed for all works carried out on site and support the team by providing the equipment, guidance and instruction needed to carry out their duties. The Assistant Manager will manage the demised contracts and clients daily, whilst providing support to the Cleaning Account Manager and managing the main stakeholder contract.
As an assistant manager, you will ensure that the company and client values, procedures and processes are followed by all team members and inspire service excellence.
- Supervise, motivate and direct the cleaning team on a day-to-day basis.
- Assist with recruitment and resourcing, interviewing, hiring and training new employees in the correct cleaning techniques and safety procedures.
- Work with the Cleaning Account Manager to manage team schedules, ensuring adequate cover for all duties.
- Lead the team to deliver high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in line with client expectations.
- Management of 4 direct reports & a team of approximately 48 (demised & landlord teams) supported by the Cleaning Account Manager.
- Ensure the team adheres to company values, procedures and processes and delivers service excellence.
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture, ensuring all staff are aware of and operate in accordance with company and client H&S procedures (e.g. COSHH regulations, RAMS, SOPs).
- Ensure all cleaning materials, chemicals and equipment are stored correctly and securely by conducting regular H&S audits and monitoring usage.
- Ensure monthly stock orders are submitted on time and in accordance with contract budgets.
- Report any equipment faults or defects to the Cleaning Account Manager and ensure the team follow correct reporting procedures.
- Conduct regular quality audits to keep standards and communicate improvements to Supervisors/Team.
- Liaise with clients, customers or service partner teams to address inquiries, resolve service issues and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Communicate effectively with all departments to ensure effective overall management.
- Respond to requests effectively and efficiently.

We are recruiting an experienced Site Contract Cleaning Assistant Manager to be based on an iconic campus in Stratford. Proven experience in contract cleaning, facilities management for soft services/cleaning at a minimum of supervisory level (3+ years).
Qualifications & Skills- Cleaning Assistant Management experience (Desirable).
- Strong knowledge of COSHH, H&S regulations, Risk Assessment/Management and SOPs.
- IOSH (desirable/willingness to complete within first 6 months of employment).
- Experience in managing on-site HR matters (full training provided to align with company policies and procedures).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills, time management and problem-solving abilities.
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams, etc.).
- Ability to work flexible hours when required (some duties may be carried out in the evenings and on weekends).
