About the role:

Kong is seeking a Strategic Regional Sales Leader to help us build and grow the Kong API platform and our Strategic Sales Team in the UK. We are searching for a seasoned industry leader who will lead our Strategic Account Executives and drive business results and revenue. Reporting to the RVP of Northern EMEA, this senior leadership position will have ownership and accountability to ensure Kong maximizes our market potential bringing in new customers as well as growing our existing clients.

This leader will work closely with our other senior leaders to ensure decisions are driving the overall Kong business goals and our long term vision continues to thrive. You will play a part in reshaping and leading the incredible growth of Kong. It is the intention of the leadership team to build a high quality, sustainable and strong sales organization. To date, a significant amount of Kong’s success has been gained through the quality of our product, our global account base, our adoption by the open source community and by inbound leads.

You will build and strengthen a quality, scalable, regional sales team focused on acquisition of new brands and targeted account plans. What You’ll Be Doing
  • Growing Kong’s presence and footprint in Strategic accounts in UK&I
  • Driving a highly performant and highly accountable culture to achieve and exceed sales goals
  • Attract, hire and retain top talent through your network and in collaboration with the rest of the org
  • Provide strong coaching and mentorship on the sales process, PG, qualification and closing
  • Conduct weekly forecast meetings with your team and report to leadership
  • Collaborate effectively with Marketing, Partners, and all stakeholders
What You’ll Bring
  • You have been a top performer as an IC and front-line manager with a track record of over achievement
  • Accurate forecasting at the individual and team levels
  • Ability to recruit, develop, and retain top talent
  • Strong territory management at a regional level
  • Proven systems/methodology for consistent pipeline generation
  • Experience using and teaching sales methodologies
  • Energy, passion, and rigour in your career as a Sales leader
