Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Building Maintenance
We are seeking a proactive and multi-skilled General Maintenance Operative to support the day-to-day maintenance operations across one of Europe's largest shopping centres. Working as part of a small, multi-disciplinary building services team, you will play a key role in ensuring the site remains safe, fully operational and well‑maintained at all times.
This position operates under the guidance of the Technical Services Shift Leader, who will direct and coordinate daily tasks. We are looking for someone with a solid background in facilities maintenance, particularly in undertaking PPMs and reactive works across mechanical, electrical and fabric disciplines. You will need to be comfortable working a variety of shifts including days and nights, possess strong general H&S knowledge, and have the ability to turn your hand to a wide range of practical tasks.

- Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) tasks as instructed by the MTL/FM.
- Undertake reactive maintenance activities, including H&S repairs, flood response, power loss issues, vandalism, lighting and fabric repairs.
- Become competent in the operation of the site's BMS and planned maintenance systems.
- Assist retailers in resolving maintenance issues (e.g., leaks, lighting faults, access problems).
- Support and work alongside other maintenance team members as required.
- Liaise with contractors and provide assistance as agreed by FM/SFM.
- Respond to site emergencies as instructed by Site Management.
- Carry out mothballing duties within vacated shop units.
- Maintain a safe, tidy, and well‑organised maintenance workshop.
- Previous experience in building or facilities maintenance.
- Experience completing PPMs and reactive works.
- Comfortable working varied shifts including days and nights.
- Broad practical skills and willingness to undertake diverse tasks.
- Good understanding of general workplace Health & Safety.
- Positive approach to teamwork and problem‑solving.
