Senior Supply Chain Manager
📍 Liskeard, UK
Volantes Technical Recruitment are seeking a Senior Supply Chain Manager to lead and manage all procurement, stores, and logistics activities across UK and overseas operations. This role ensures regulatory compliance, cost‑effective purchasing, strong supplier performance, and reliable support to maintenance and flight operations.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, manage, and develop the stores and supply chain team.
- Set team objectives, KPIs, and performance standards.
- Ensure appropriate resourcing, training, and competency management.
- Act as the main escalation point for supply chain issues, including AOG situations.
- Oversee procurement of aircraft parts, consumables, tooling, GSE, and services.
- Manage suppliers, contracts, negotiations, and ongoing performance.
- Develop procurement strategies to control costs and improve lead times.
- Support aircraft teardown, storage, preservation, and parts sales activities.
- Maintain strong relationships with OEMs, distributors, and repair vendors.
- Ensure stores and logistics activities remain fully Part 145 compliant.
- Oversee tooling calibration and compliance monitoring.
- Manage stock forecasting, accuracy, rotables, and obsolescence.
- Ensure efficient import/export processes, customs compliance, and DG handling.
- Lead AOG logistics and oversee shipping and dispatch standards.
- Optimise use of ERP/MRP systems (e.g. Aerotrac).
- Drive continuous improvement and support ISO 9001 compliance.
- Support audits and implement corrective actions.
- Act as the main point of contact for supply chain matters internally and externally.
- Proven experience in aviation supply chain and stores management.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Solid understanding of UK CAA / EASA Part 145 and Part M requirements.
- Experience in procurement, supplier management, and contract negotiation.
- Confident user of ERP/MRP systems (Aerotrac preferred).
- Strong organisational, analytical, and communication skills.
