Job Description General Administrative Support
- Moving and handling papers.
- Printing and scanning.
- Photocopying and preparing documents for court.
- Helping to access and use written materials.
- Loading documents onto document systems.
- Paper-based research.
- Taking notes.
- Assistance with case preparation, including legal research.
- Providing support at court, conferences, events, and other professional meetings.
- Liaising with legal professionals.
- Assistance in travelling to and from work, travelling to client conferences/BD activities, etc and court.
- Assistance in navigating buildings, including chambers and court buildings.
- Accessing support.
- Assisting with clothing, if required.
- Assisting with wig and gown, if required.
- Helping to access and eat food and drink during mealtimes.
- Assisting with accessing and using the toilets.
- Ability to multitask and operate within a fast‑paced and demanding environment.
- A confident, focussed, hardworking and positive attitude.
- Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.
- Flexibility and adaptability.
- Organised with attention to detail and time management.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Experience in legal concepts and research.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and online law libraries.
What are the pay and working hours? 02/
What practice areas do you do?
I have a broad practice involving public, civil and regulatory law.
Yes, but starting mid‑February is ideal. We can discuss options if this is a concern.
The cover role will start when you are available.
04/I have never done legal research before. Does that matter?
Legal research is fundamental to the role. You will be able to learn how to use legal libraries, such as Westlaw and Lexis Nexis, but you will need to demonstrate that you can conduct professional and academic research

There are some things in the job description I have not done before. Does that matter?
Not necessarily, as long as you can demonstrate the required skills. A willingness to try and to learn is most important.
You will be supported with learning everything you need to know.
07/Is this a full‑time or part‑time job?
I am recruiting for full‑time and part‑time cover roles. The cover roles are ideal for people who are self‑employed and/or county court advocates.
08/Do I need to do anything "medical"?
No. Everything you do for me is just doing physical things that I can't do for myself.

I've never done "personal" things for someone else before. Isn't that a bit weird?
I have gotten used to it, and you will too.

Each day is a new adventure! One day, you might be reading papers, researching the law for one of Daniel's cases, and the next, taking notes for him in court.
