MGA Underwriting Accountant

City of London - EC3 (3 days London; 2 days home)

We have partnered with our client, a superb and growing London Market MGA, in their search for a newly created Underwriting Accountant position. The successful candidate will support underwriting data quality, bordereaux processing, and financial reporting.

• Clean, validate and standardise underwriting/bordereaux data from brokers, TPAs and cover holders
• Support month-end close, underwriting MI, capacity provider reporting and bordereaux (premium, claims, exposure)
• Maintain data mappings, templates and controls to ensure consistency across classes and products
• Reconcile underwriting data (GWP, commission) to cash, broker statements and the general ledger
• Assist with commission income, profit commission and reinsurance reporting
• Support loss ratio and premium development analysis and collaborate with TPAs on data quality
• Work with Underwriting, Operations and external partners to resolve data issues
• Improve data processes, controls and support system/data warehouse enhancements

• Experience with in an MGA, Broker or Insurance
• Knowledge of MGA/Insurance premium flows, commissions, and technical accounting
