Aon shapes decisions for the better to protect and enrich the lives of people around the world. When you join us, you’ll become empowered to make the same impact, exploring ways of becoming a more relevant, connected and valued professional.

Commercial Risk Solutions

Trends in economics, demographics and geopolitics – compounded by rapid technological change – are creating unprecedented volatility for organisations. We assist clients with their insurance buying decisions, aiming to optimise the balance of risk transfer and retention financing through valuation and analysis. You can learn more about our Risk Transfer offerings here:

Reinsurance Solutions

Frequently, the scale of risks underwritten is too great for one insurer to carry safely. In these circumstances, companies use reinsurance to mitigate their own risk exposure. Specialist reinsurance companies take on part of the risk that insurers assume from their commercial clients, sharing the losses among several carriers. For more information, see:

Your Role as a Commercial Risk or Reinsurance Apprentice

Join one of our Commercial Risk or Reinsurance teams as a permanent colleague from day one and discover how we help our clients identify their risks and ensure they have the best possible cover to mitigate them. Prepare to make an immediate impact as you demonstrate your passion for customer service, quickly learning about our business and the broking process, developing your professional skills and building strong relationships with clients and colleagues.

What

Your Day Could Look Like
  • Supporting the delivery of client‑facing transactional service activities
  • Assisting in the day‑to‑day running of client risk and insurance programmes
  • Contributing proactively to client satisfaction, retention and profitability
  • Carrying out administrative tasks contributing to the broking process
  • Inputting data accurately to maintain management information
Your Development

As an Aon Apprentice you will be enrolled onto our Development Programme. This programme is built around three core elements:

  • Business learning – on‑the‑job experiences that give you the opportunity to develop your knowledge and understanding of the team and solution line you have joined.
  • Centralised learning – UK apprentices complete an Aon induction, monthly webinars, business skills training and workshops; all designed to help you develop your knowledge of Aon, build your confidence and network across our business.
  • Professional qualifications – we support your study towards your Level 4 Insurance Apprenticeship and Certificate in Insurance through CII professional qualification, with paid study leave and a range of study materials.
Building Relationships

With Aon business leaders playing an active role in our development, you’re encouraged to make the most of every networking opportunity. The early relationships you build will include:
- Your apprentice network – meeting apprentices from all areas of Aon in the UK.
- Your mentor – an experienced colleague offering career guidance.
- Business seniors – many experienced colleagues involved in your development.
- The Early Careers Team – supporting your learning path.

Your Career Beyond Your Apprenticeship

After completing the formal apprenticeship programme, you will receive ongoing support. We expect you to be promotion ready within 24 months and continue to grow your career in the insurance industry, including continuing studies for CII qualifications. You’ll have the chance to explore different career paths and, once you have completed the 18‑month apprenticeship, your training and development continues with more client responsibilities.
