Our Financial Institutions team is seeking a Senior Development Underwriter to join our London office. You will own underwriting of new business, partner with regional and product teams, and drive business growth through relationship building and new business development.

• Underwrite and assess risk for products and accounts from assigned brokers, making decisions within underwriting authority and providing recommendations to leadership.
• Underwrite complex accounts and risks, optimizing profitability through pricing, retention, endorsements, limits, and indemnity.
• Negotiate terms consistent with underwriting standards within submission time frames.
• Execute product segment strategies to meet budgeted results.
• Continuously manage and maintain book quality as per underwriting strategy.
• Ensure accurate underwriting documentation and adherence to standards.
• Develop and leverage broker/client relationships through disciplined sales management.
• Develop and execute sales plans for assigned brokers in partnership with sales leadership.
• Create and achieve plans that capture new business and cross‑sell TICL products.
• Act as a business partner to brokers and clients, managing interests of TICL.
• Participate in regional and product underwriting meetings.
• Demonstrate superior customer service and product knowledge.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• University degree and/or Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) Advanced Certification or Diploma.
• General knowledge of industry operations, local marketplace and financial drivers.
• Intermediate experience in underwriting Management Liability/Professional Indemnity/Financial Institutions.
• Relationship management and business perspective – build productive alliances.
• Analytical thinking and financial acumen – identify problems, analyze, and make sound decisions.
• Product/technical proficiency and sound quoting and pricing decisions.

• Previous experience of underwriting in management liability, professional indemnity, or financial institutions.
