Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: Product Analyst (UPL)
Location: City of Westminster

At Zopa, Analysts are the people who turn curiosity into clarity and data into direction. We're a bank built on doing things differently and growing fast. Over the past two years, we've grown more than 25% year-on-year. As we scale, thoughtful, high-quality analytics becomes even more important - not just to explain performance, but to unlock new growth. We're looking for a Senior Product Analyst to join our Unsecured Personal Loans (UPL) Tribe - someone commercially sharp, creatively curious and analytically rigorous, who wants to shape the future of one of the UK's leading lending products.

The Role UPL is Zopa's largest and most profitable lending product. It anchors the bank's unit economics, has delivered years of strong growth, and now serves around 6% of the UK unsecured personal loans market. This is a high-performing, established tribe with ambitious goals for the year ahead. The focus is not on building from scratch but on accelerating growth, fine-tuning performance and unlocking new streams of value.

You will be the embedded Product Analyst supporting originations, conversion and in-life customer servicing. You'll partner closely with Product, Credit Risk, Decisioning and Commercial teams, with strong visibility across leadership given UPL's central role in Zopa's performance. You'll sit within the tribe day-to-day, while reporting into a central Product Analytics team - combining deep domain ownership with the support of a strong analytics cohort.

This role suits someone who enjoys working on products at scale: refining what works, challenging assumptions, and identifying creative ways to grow in a competitive market. About the Unsecured Personal Loans (UPL) Tribe UPL is Zopa's largest and most profitable lending product and continues to play a central role in the bank's performance and growth. As the product matures, the focus is on accelerating sustainable growth while maintaining strong unit economics.

That means continually improving how we acquire, approve and support customers - refining conversion, reducing friction and embedding lending more seamlessly into the broader Zopa ecosystem. The tribe is working on a mix of optimisation and innovation: enhancing core journeys, improving how we use data to make smarter decisions, and exploring new ways to meet customer borrowing needs. This is a product operating at real scale in a competitive market.

The ambition is to grow responsibly, strengthen customer relationships and ensure lending remains a core pillar of Zopa's proposition. Great analytics here directly influences revenue, customer experience and long-term value creation.

  • Partner with Product, Credit Risk, Decisioning and Commercial teams to understand and optimise the end-to-end lending funnel
  • Define, embed and evolve core metrics across acquisition, eligibility, approval, conversion and in-life servicing
  • Identify and prioritise opportunities to improve funnel efficiency, customer experience and commercial performance
  • Design and evaluate experiments across acquisition, pre-approval, eligibility and servicing journeys
  • Analyse complex lending and Open Banking datasets to unlock new growth opportunities
  • Support major strategic initiatives such as the Lending Hub and new lending propositions
  • Model and forecast the impact of product, credit and growth initiatives
  • Quantify trade-offs across approval rates, risk, conversion and customer outcomes
  • Own analytical projects end-to-end, proactively identifying where insight can drive incremental originations. Strong SQL skills and experience working with large, complex datasets. Python experience is a bonus
  • Experience with BI tools such as Tableau, Looker or Power BI
  • You combine analytical rigour with strong commercial judgement and enjoy working at the intersection of product, credit and growth
  • You have experience working in a data-led, fast-paced environment (e.g. fintech, banking, consulting or a high-growth start-up). Experience in lending or credit products is strongly valued given the scale and visibility of this role
  • You're analytical with excellent attention to detail
  • Have a strong quantitative background and naturally translate data into commercial impact
  • Enjoy designing experiments and generating new growth hypotheses
  • Are comfortable working with senior stakeholders in high-visibility environments
  • Can balance creativity with discipline - refining metrics while constructively challenging how they're framed
  • Communicate clearly and confidently, focusing on impact, trade-offs and implications
  • Thrive in cross-functional teams. Ability to build strong relationships across Product, Credit and Commercial functions
  • Are proactive, curious and comfortable taking ownership
  • Nice to have: experience in lending, originations funnels, credit decisioning or Open Banking data.
