Our client, a global Insurance broker are currently looking to hire a Head of PMO with Insurance sector experience to join the team on a hybrid working contract basis.
Key Responsibilities- Define and implement the PMO strategy in alignment with organisational goals.
- Establish portfolio‑level planning and prioritisation frameworks.
- Provide leadership and direction to PMO staff and the wider delivery community.
- Oversee end‑to‑end portfolio lifecycle: intake, prioritisation, capacity planning, and reporting.
- Maintain a clear, data‑driven view of portfolio health, risks, dependencies, and benefits.
- Support executive decision‑making with clear insights and recommendations.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and delivery teams.
- Build strong relationships across Technology, Business, Finance, HR, and Operations.
- Communicate complex portfolio insights in a clear, accessible way.
- Deep knowledge of project, programme, and portfolio management practices.
- Experience implementing and scaling PMO functions (enterprise or departmental).
- Expertise in Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery models.
- Strong financial and benefits tracking capability.
- Advanced ability with portfolio tools (e.g., Jira, Azure Dev Ops, MS Project, Planview, Smartsheet).
- Strong influencing and relationship‑building skills at exec and senior leadership level.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and negotiation skills.
- Able to balance strategic thinking with operational execution.
- Experience working in complex, multi‑project environments (e.g., tech, digital, transformation).
- Demonstrated success implementing portfolio governance and delivery methodologies.
- Line management experience and leadership of multi‑discipline PMO teams.
- PRINCE2, MSP, PMP, SAFe, Scrum, APM, or equivalent certifications.
- Experience in change management (e.g., PROSCI).
- Background in digital, technology, or large‑scale transformation environments.
