Job Description
About the Role
We’re looking for a hands‑on Platform Engineer to join a small, high‑performing development team in London. You’ll be the primary infrastructure contact, responsible for building, scaling, and maintaining Linux and cloud systems that support high‑traffic, data‑intensive workloads
, including web scraping operations
.
Own and optimize Linux‑based infrastructure in multi‑region AWS environments.
Configure and manage forward/reverse proxies (Nginx/Squid) and CDNs (Cloud Front) to support high‑volume traffic.
Automate infrastructure and deployments using Terraform, Ansible, and scripting (Python/Bash).
Monitor and tune performance, troubleshoot issues, and proactively improve reliability.
Collaborate closely with a small dev team to ensure stable, efficient environments.
Support production systems during business hours and as part of an out‑of‑hours rota.
Required Skills & Experience2–5 years in infrastructure, platform engineering, or Dev Ops roles.
Strong Linux administration and networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, routing, load balancing).
Production experience in AWS (multi‑region) or other cloud environments
.
Hands‑on with proxy/CDN technologies (Nginx, Squid, Cloud Front) in production.
Strong scripting skills (Python and/or Bash).
Experience with
infrastructure‑as‑code tooling (Terraform, Ansible).
Monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk).
Experience managing vendor relationships or external cloud providers.
