As our Service Support Co-ordinator within the pharmacy clinical trials team, you'll be at the heart of coordinating between research teams, sponsors, R&D teams, and the pharmacy team to ensure clinical trials are set up quickly and efficiently. You'll manage deadlines, monitor trial activity, and keep stakeholders informed, ensuring that all non-clinical aspects of the service run smoothly. In this role, you'll lead and manage the administrative team within the Pharmacy Clinical Trials service, overseeing recruitment, performance reviews, and personal development planning.
You'll be responsible for improving administrative efficiency, managing rotas, coordinating leave and sickness cover, and ensuring compliance with Trust policies.
- To provide day to day operational management support to the Head of Pharmacy Clinical Trials & Advanced Therapies to ensure that from a non-clinical perspective that the service is running effectively and efficiently.
- The Service Support Co-ordinator works directly to the Head of Pharmacy Clinical Trials & Advanced Therapies. They will be expected to work autonomously but under direction. When their Manager is away they will be expected to provide cover in that they will have a good enough understanding of what the key non-clinical issues are in their service that they will be able to brief the General Manager/Chief Pharmacist and other stakeholders appropriately.
- Responsibilities include delegated responsibility for service planning, staff performance management, staff recruitment, staffing, activity monitoring and delivery, co-ordination of complaints, quality control and budget monitoring.
- Experience working in clinical research and line management is essential, as is the ability to stay calm under pressure, motivate others, and adapt to change. Strong communication skills and proficiency with databases and spreadsheets are required.
