Occupational Therapists or Social Workers

Overview

We are looking for dedicated Registered Mental Health Nurses, Occupational Therapists or Social Workers to join our Liaison Psychiatry Services. We have vacancies in two of the three boroughs covered by West London NHS Trust:
Ealing and Hounslow. We provide services in Ealing Hospital and West Middlesex University Hospital.

The teams have a mix of Consultant Liaison Psychiatrists, Trainee doctors, Foundation Year doctors, Liaison Psychiatry Practitioners and Team Administrators. Office spaces are within the acute hospitals we serve and excellent working relationships have already been developed with both acute Trust clinicians and managers.

• Undertake biopsychosocial assessments for patients who attend the Urgent Treatment Centre, Emergency Department, or are admitted to medical wards with mental health needs, including emotional problems, self-harm or psychiatric crisis.
• Work with patients presenting with psychosomatic disorders and psychological issues related to physical disorders.
• Provide care for patients aged 16 and above, including involvement with CAMHS patients, patients living with dementia, older adults and adults.
• Offer a person‑centred approach to treatment, recovery and well‑being.
• Make autonomous clinical decisions based on analysis of complex presenting problems, while receiving support and supervision from senior colleagues.
• Promote carer/family involvement where appropriate and liaise with other health and social care providers to coordinate and facilitate safe discharge plans.
• Provide formal and informal training to peers and acute trust colleagues to enhance patient care.
