Overview
The post holder will lead the team of registered nurses, nursing associates, health care support workers and student nurses in delivering safe effective care to patients within the Cancer Assessment Unit (CAU) in collaboration with the medical and wider MDT teams, ensuring a high-quality service to patients. The post holder will have overall responsibility for the Chemotherapy Hotline service ensuring it is adequately resourced, and audit of the service provided.
The post holder will lead the teams on the Cancer Assessment Unit (CAU) and Chemotherapy Hotline Service, always acting as a role model ensuring safe and effective care is provided to all. The post holder will actively participate in meeting patient needs within the service to agreed standards and participate in audit activities / data collection to ensuring key national and local targets / Key performance indicators are met.
The post holder will take on additional responsibilities as and when requested in collaboration with matron and senior nurse with responsibility for the service. The post holder will ensure the smooth running of both services.
