Trident Healthcare are recruiting on behalf of a prestigious private hospital located in St John's Wood, just moments from the underground station. This is London's leading charitable hospital, where all profits directly support St John's Hospice — an NHS‑commissioned service providing exceptional, free palliative care to patients and families across North London. 60 inpatient beds, including 4 HDU beds
Dedicated adult and paediatric day‑case wards
6 operating theatres covering a wide range of surgical specialties (excluding neurosurgery & cardiac)
Elective theatre lists 6 days a week + 24/7 emergency theatre cover
On‑site Urgent Care Centre seeing ~12,000 patients annually
The RoleThe hospital is seeking skilled and motivated Critical Care Fellows to join its expanding team. You will provide resident medical cover for the HDU and support the wider hospital, working alongside Consultants, RMOs, and the on‑call ICU Consultant.
You will be one of two resident doctors on‑site 24/7, with responsibilities including:
- Managing HDU patients, including clerking, daily reviews, and escalation
- Supporting emergency situations across the hospital
- Providing advanced airway and critical care expertise for resuscitation teams
- Liaising closely with Consultants and Anaesthetists
- Supporting paediatric cases where appropriate (paediatric experience desirable but not essential)
- Ensuring safe, timely, and high‑quality patient care
The hospital currently employs five permanent Critical Care Fellows and is expanding the team to improve rota flexibility and continuity. Applicants are encouraged to their preferred weekly hours — the rota is annualised to support work‑life balance.
Requirements- Previous UK clinical experience
- Full GMC registration
- Postgraduate training in Anaesthetics or Intensive Care Medicine
- ALS certification (EPALS desirable)
- Strong critical care and airway management skills
- Excellent communication and team‑working abilities
