Overview

Caroline Ward is a dynamic unit that is changing with the increasing demands on the St George's Cardiothoracic service, a regional tertiary centre delivering high quality care. Our focus is always to provide quality patient care and our team values reflect those of the Trust:
Excellent, Kind, Responsible and Respect. Caroline Ward is a 24-bedded thoracic ward. You will be part of the team that looks after patients from the beginning of their surgical journey to the time they are discharged from the ward. We are looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic nurses who are keen to develop and enhance their clinical skills with our diverse patient population.

We are looking for band 5 staff nurses who appreciate the challenge and reward of working in a specialist area and working alongside with the multi-disciplinary team. As an acute thoracic ward we require a minimum of 6 to 12 months experience within an acute healthcare setting but newly qualified nurses are encouraged to apply. You will be expected to work independently and in turn we will able to support and offer you the ability to advance your skills and aim to provide you with a high standard of training in the clinical area and through our mentorship programme, clinical practice development team, and from higher education institutions.
