Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified BMS Band 6 in the Haematology Department within the Department of Paediatric Laboratory Medicine. You will work within a team in the Haematology, Coagulation and Blood Transfusion Sections.
The laboratory provides an extensive range of investigations to support the specialist patient population of this tertiary referral paediatric hospital. This includes a wide range of specialist investigations for both haematology and haemostasis, and support for patients with multiple special requirements in Blood Transfusion. The department is UKAS accredited and is also an IBMS accredited training laboratory. Applications are invited from candidates who possess a degree in Biomedical Science and are registered with the HCPC.
Responsibilities- You will be trained to perform the technical and scientific work in the Haematology, Coagulation and Blood Transfusion sections within the Laboratory.
- You will participate in the departmental out of hours service after training, including a 24/7 shift pattern.

The recruitment process for all admin and clerical roles at Bands 2-4 will be a two stage recruitment process whereby shortlisted candidates will undertake an online literacy, numeracy, ICT and typing test. Only those candidates who pass the competency test will proceed to a formal interview.
