Pharmacy Dispenser – Private Primary Healthcare Clinic

As a key member of the clinical support team, the Pharmacy Dispenser will assist with the preparation, dispensing, and supply of medicines within our private outpatient clinic.

Working under the supervision of the Lead GP and prescribing clinicians, you will ensure accuracy, safety, and an excellent patient experience.

• Receive, assemble, label, and issue prescriptions in line with SOPs
• Identify and escalate any dispensing discrepancies to the Lead GP or prescriber
• Manage medicine stock, including ordering, storage, and expiry checks
• Support safe handling and recording of Controlled Drugs in accordance with legislation
• Greet patients and handle routine, non-clinical queries professionally
• Provide basic, non-clinical medicine information and escalate clinical queries appropriately
• Maintain accurate electronic dispensing and stock records
• Keep the dispensary organised, clean, and compliant with health & safety standards
• Work collaboratively with clinicians and administrative staff

• NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent
• Previous experience in a dispensing or medicines-handling role (preferred)
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work well under pressure in a busy clinical environment
• Good organisational and teamwork skills
• Basic computer literacy and confidence with digital systems
