Speech and Language Therapist

We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated independent Speech and Language Therapists whose professional background and training are underpinned by theories of working with trauma, attachment and loss. You will have a good working knowledge of supporting children and young people in the care sector, passion, strong emotional intelligence, and an understanding of the importance of collaborative working to achieve the best for children in the care system.
You will also recognize that assessments and therapeutic interventions may at times require flexible, creative and mindful techniques.
To enable the advancement of our Assessing and Healing Complex Trauma (AHCT) approach you will join together with our team to provide bespoke assessments, individual therapy, group therapy, therapeutic interventions and resources for children who have lived with the complexities of trauma, loss and abuse. This may also include those with neuro‑diversity and learning disabilities. We promote a philosophy of holistic support and working together both within our organisation and with outside agencies, with you participating in Team Around the Child meetings.
PersonalSpecification – Role Specific
- Relevant Speech and Language Therapy qualification
- Registration with an approved professional body
- Active clinical supervisor in place externally
- Minimum three years post‑graduate experience delivering successful outcomes for children in the care system
- Enhanced DBS
- Strong report‑writing skills
- Strong emotional intelligence
- Collaborative mindset
- Flexibility and creativity in therapeutic techniques
- Understanding responsibilities in protecting own health, safety and well‑being and that of colleagues and others
- Stay up to date with developments within the profession by attending appropriate courses, conferences and meetings as per CPD requirements
- CPD opportunities through practice and process therapy meetings (monthly)
- Support from a dedicated clinical lead and administration team
- Team Around the Child holistic support
- Flexibility to manage your own workload
- Mileage paid at 45 ppm
- Additional travel expenses for journeys over 45 minutes
