Job Overview

The PSO role within the Probation Electronic Monitoring team offers an excellent career development opportunity for individuals who are looking to work in a specialist team responding to regional and national priorities. The role sits within a fast paced and continually evolving area of work, requiring close collaboration with key stakeholders at both regional and national levels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor EM orders from sentence to completion
  • Ensure successful fitment of EM equipment
  • Complete risk forms
  • Complete breach reports for court
  • Analyse data
  • Engage with stakeholders
  • Attend court hearings if necessary
  • Provide case management support to a full range of people on probation utilising service procedures and practice directions
  • Assess and manage risk, undertake robust assessments, maintain resilience
  • Work closely with Probation Practitioners to ensure delivery and enforcement of EM is delivered to a high standard
Key Tasks (not exhaustive)
  • Monitoring of EM Orders from the point of sentence to completions
  • Ensuring successful fitment of the EM equipment
  • Completion of risk forms
  • Completion of breach report for Court
  • Data analysis
  • Stakeholder engagement
  • Attendance at Court if necessary
Requirements and Eligibility
  • Right to work in the UK (including Skilled Worker visa rules)
  • Full PSO training will be provided
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and writing skills
  • Ability to assess and manage risk and provide clear reports to tight deadlines
  • Resilience and ability to work in a high volume, dynamic environment
  • Will require completion of the Civil Service Judgement test (CSJT) and application assessment
