Credit Analyst – Infrastructure & Emerging Markets

Our client is a specialist infrastructure credit institution focused on mobilising private sector capital into emerging and frontier markets. The organisation operates across Africa and Asia and supports transactions spanning renewable energy, transport, water, social infrastructure, manufacturing and financial institutions.
An opportunity has arisen for a Credit Analyst to join the London-based Credit Team. The role supports senior credit professionals in evaluating new transactions and monitoring an active portfolio of structured and project finance exposures across developing markets.
This position suits an analytically strong individual with credit risk experience who is motivated by complex transactions and development impact.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct independent credit analysis on pipeline and portfolio transactions
- Review financial statements and interrogate borrower financial models, including sensitivity analysis
- Draft high-quality credit papers outlining key risks and recommendations for senior committees
- Assess transaction structures, financial covenants and structural enhancements
- Support quality control across credit and portfolio committee submissions
- Contribute to credit risk frameworks including Probability of Default and Loss Given Default scorecards
- Assist in enhancing portfolio reporting and credit monitoring processes
- Provide administrative support to credit committees where required
- Credit risk experience gained at a DFI, bank, rating agency, advisory or similar institution
- Experience analysing transactions in frontier or developing markets
- Strong financial analysis and modelling capability
- Ability to communicate complex credit issues clearly in written and verbal form
- Exposure to structured or project finance is advantageous
- Understanding of guarantees or credit enhancement structures is beneficial
