Renewable Energy Analyst - Renewable Energy

Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a sophisticated analyst at a leading UK renewable energy firm. The company has a portfolio of over 250MW of solar projects, with a target to significantly increase deployment into renewable energy capacity in the next 5 years.

Financial Modelling & Valuation

• Build, manage and enhance complex financial models for renewable energy projects, portfolios and company acquisitions
• Conduct scenario analysis, stress testing, and portfolio-level financial performance modelling
• Help prepare valuation reports, return projections, and investment analytics for senior management and committees

Investment Analysis

• Support finance team by analysing capital structures, funding requirements, and project cash flows
• Perform detailed debt sizing, sculpting, refinancing and covenant analysis
• Perform quantitative due diligence, including sensitivity, break-even, and risk modelling
• Support investment decision-making with data-driven insights

Deal Support & Reporting

• Assist in preparing investment memoranda with a focus on the quantitative and financial sections
• Collaborate with internal teams on portfolio tracking and reporting

Sector Exposure & Market Research

• Conduct market research and benchmarking to inform modelling assumptions
• Track trends in infrastructure sectors, regulatory changes, and financing structures that impact investment metrics

Essential

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, or a quantitatively strong discipline
• Advanced Excel modelling skills, including VBA
• Strong grasp of cash flow modelling and leverage structures
• Attention to detail and ability to validate and stress-test complex models
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Desirable

• Professional experience in renewable energy investment, infrastructure investment, private equity or structured finance
• Familiarity with Power BI, Bloomberg, or other financial/data visualization tools
• Professional finance qualifications (e.g., CFA, ACA, ACCA) a plus
