A leading insurance organisation in London is seeking a Data Analyst to join its Claims team, supporting a critical Unmatched Cash Project. This role is ideal for a data-driven professional with experience analysing complex data sets, reconciling information across systems, and supporting financial accuracy within a regulated environment.
You will play a key role in ensuring financial integrity across claims operations by identifying and resolving data discrepancies between claims and finance systems. Working within a collaborative and supportive environment, you will partner closely with stakeholders across Claims, Finance, Underwriting Operations, IT, and third-party administrators, helping to improve processes, strengthen controls, and deliver meaningful insight.
As a Data Analyst within the Claims team, you will support the investigation and resolution of unmatched cash items by analysing data inconsistencies across multiple systems. Your work will involve validating data quality, identifying root causes of reconciliation issues, and contributing to system and process improvements. You will also support governance reporting, compliance activity, and audit requirements, ensuring transparency and strong financial controls.
Key responsibilities
- Analyse and reconcile unmatched cash items across claims systems, bureau platforms, and third-party administrator data.
- Investigate discrepancies relating to policy references, claim IDs, currencies, values, and TPA coding.
- Work with large and complex data sets to ensure accurate cash allocation and reporting.
- Validate data quality and entry standards, recommending improvements to prevent future mismatches.
- Support system and process change initiatives through data-led insight and analysis.
- Prepare governance updates, KPIs, and progress reporting for senior stakeholders.
- Document remediation activity in line with SOX and audit requirements.
- Collaborate with Claims, Finance, Underwriting Operations, IT, and external partners to resolve issues efficiently.
- Escalate risks, dependencies, or data concerns through appropriate governance forums.
- Support financial impact assessments and write-down analysis for unresolved cash items.
What you’ll bring
- Proven experience as a Data Analyst, ideally within insurance, claims, or financial services.
- Strong ability to analyse, reconcile, and interpret complex data sets in a regulated environment.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with claims or financial systems (e.g. Claim Center, ECF, or similar).
- Understanding of SOX controls, audit requirements, or financial governance frameworks.
- Experience producing clear analysis, KPIs, and reporting for senior stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
- Exposure to cash allocation, unmatched cash, or TPA data is beneficial but not essential.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a dependable and detail-oriented approach.
This organisation is recognised for its inclusive culture, supportive leadership, and investment in professional development. Employees benefit from flexible working, access to training and learning opportunities, and generous pension contributions. You’ll join a collaborative team where accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement are valued—and where your expertise will make a tangible impact.
